Caribbean Beauty Awards

The Caribbean Beauty Awards (CBA) is a civil society organization, dedicated to recognizing professionals of the Beauty Sector in Trinidad & Tobago, and to come the wider Caribbean. This non-profit organization was established to identify and recognize quality and excellence in this thriving economic sector, which is part of the multibillion-dollar global industry. One of the objectives of CBA, is to encourage the enhancement of current best practices, and to improve the professionalism of the members of this growing industry.

This year for the 3rd year running, a nomination process was carried out between June to August 2019 via social media campaign. This project, gathered the support of a number of beauty influencers in and around T&T, and attracted nominations for each of our fourteen (14) categories. The criteria for best practices and high standards, was developed and agreed upon by a number of experienced local professionals and the CBA panel of judges in the following areas:

*Lash Extensions

*Nails

*Spa Aesthetics

*Makeup

*Hair

*Barbering

*Henna

Nominees were asked to submit their portfolios both online and via hardcopy submissions, and the winners selected based upon their quality of work, certification, and their ability to meet the set criteria. The final three in each category were subject to site visits (where necessary), by the judging panel as part of the judging process.

The winners of each of the 14 categories will be announced on the night of the Black-Tie Gala Event, which will take place on Sunday September 8th, 2019  at 5:00 pm at Queen’s Hall.

In addition to the aforementioned, the panel of judges were tasked with the job of determining this year’s winner of the “Long Standing Award” and the “Salon of the Year Award”; two of the more anticipated awards of the evening. The “Long Standing Award” would be given to an individual who has made significant and longstanding contributions to the beauty sector; it is a privilege to be able to honour these mentors of this growing industry.
