This play is based on the outcome of the general elections held on May 24 th , 2010 in Trinidad and Tobago. It is a ‘political satire’ created by the prevailing mood and environment of the political landscape at that time. It takes place on the night of May 24, 2010 and is a hilarious insight into the machinations of our politics from 1962 to May 2010.
While awaiting the results of the general elections, the leader of the incumbent party, Mr Jamdem, fell asleep on his couch and had dream in which the former leader of the People’s Party Mr. Pandeo Basday, visits to give him some critical information. Political banter and picong passes between them. Old grudges are dredged up. Accusations of corruption in their respective political parties are recalled. They enjoy their recriminations in friendly fire.
However, while they are reminiscing about the good old days, a judge has summoned them to appear before him. The citizens of the country have filed suit against them. To add to the bacchanal, the ghosts of Prime Ministers past also make an appearance in court!
