Marcia Charles is an acclaimed dancer with experience in folk, modern and ballet.  Marcia has travelled wide and far mastering her craft.  Her passion for dance was so deeply woven into her being that she was compelled not only to perform but to share her knowledge, experience, techniques with others and so The Marcia Charles Dance Theatre Company was founded in 1998.

Since its inception the Company has developed tremendously having been exposed to regional and international performances with the successful participation at the Caribbean Dance Festival, Carifesta, The Prime Minister’s Best Village Dance competition and the World Championships of Performing Art in Hollywood.

Our dancers have supported the presentations of local artistes at Dimanche Gras, International Soca Monarch, Junior Soca Monarch and Young Kings competitions. We have also featured alongside the national instrument of Trinidad & Tobago with WITCO Desperadoes, Caribbean Airlines Invaders, Republic Bank Exodus, and many others.

The Marcia Charles Dance Theatre Company celebrates 20 years as an entity, 20 years as a dance school, 20 years as a performing company, 20 years of contributing to the fabric of society, to the performing arts and 20 years making a difference in the lives of many, many people both young and the young at heart.

This year’s production entitled “The Circle of Life” is a powerful symbol that represents all the essential elements that make up life. Together, these elements form a whole and are constantly interacting with one another.  The Earth, Wind, Fire and Water

  • Earth, which stands for substance and practicality.  The Earth is nurturing and stable, solid and firm, full of endurance, energy and strength.
  • Wind, corresponding to intellect. The Wind carries away your troubles, blows away strife, and carries positive thoughts to those who are far away.
  • Fire, representing action, vigour, energy and creativity.  Fire can heal or harm and can bring about new life or destroy the old and worn.
  • Water, symbolizing emotions. Water is used for healing, cleansing, and purification

Allow us to take you take you on a journey that loops into a full circle, the “Circle of Life”
