Glorious live singing at the Queens Hall!
A big part of the Christmas experience has always been a multitude of live performances to ring in the season, but with COVID in the air this year, most performance groups have found it impossible to even rehearse.
Picoplat Music Development Foundation is determined to rise to the challenge and will present seasonal favorites along with a fully staged performance of Mozart’s comedy “The Impresario” on November 28-29 at the Queens Hall.
“Glorious” will feature the stellar vocals of Edward Cumberbatch, Krisson Joseph, Deborah Aboud, Anneliese Kelly and Natalia Dopwell, accompanied by pianist Eunmi Choi and conducted by Musical Director June Nathaniel, with Set Design by Daniella Walcott and Dramatic Direction by Dr. Helmer Hilwig.
Picoplat has built a reputation of presenting high caliber casts of performers in dynamic productions over the years, most recently The Merry Widow 2019, Elixir of Love 2018 and The Magic Flute 2017. Audiences can look forward to lots of laughter, as the Impresario (played by Cumberbatch) follows the drama that ensues as three rival divas vie for the lead role in his new opera.
Advance purchase is highly recommended as seating will be limited to 33% of the hall’s capacity. All tickets are will be reserved seating ($250 each) booked directly through the Queens Hall Box Office (624-1284).
In order to comply with COVID guidelines, patrons are reminded that there will be no intermission (showtime will be under 2 hours), and there will be no food or drinks on sale at the theatre. Temperature checks and hand sanitization will be conducted upon entry, and all patrons masks must cover their nose and mouth for the duration of the event.
