A Pan Masterclass for young musicians!
The “Artist in Residence” series under the auspices of Queen’s Hall and led by Dr. Richard Tang
Yuk will present a 2-day masterclass for pannists.
The Teaching Artists at this masterclass will include Vanessa Headley, Ray Holman and Natasha Joseph.
The focus of this masterclass will be on several areas relevant to the pan performer: technique,
goal-oriented practice, critical listening, studio recording, live performance, and the steel pan
musician as an entrepreneur.
Applicants will be required to submit a short video of their playing from a prescribed repertoire of scores. The masterclass is open not only to those who read music fluently, but also those who learn by ear and audio recordings of the repertoire would be
available to those applicants.
The masterclass will also accept positions for auditors, those who are either not accepted as performers, or who would just like to observe. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
