“Chandramukhi: The Story of the Courtesans” is a period piece that aspires to show the hardships, and complications that fill the life of courtesans during the Mughal Empire in the 1500s. The trials of losing one’s true identity and being forced to become another, an entertainer for the rich and elite, expressed through Kathak dance.
The story follows the character, Chandramukhi, as she was stolen from her home and sold to House Noor Mahal (Palace of Radiance). Her journey is a story of bewilderment and suspense.
