St. Augustine Chamber Orchestra’s (SACO) “bach to Baroque” will feature performances by the 250-piece Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Kenneth Listhrop. The Concert is a musical tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach, a German composer, organist and violinist of the Baroque period. His music is revered for its intellectual depth, technical command and artistic beauty. Baroque music is a style of Western art music originating from the 17th century. During this period, composers and performers used more elaborate musical ornamentation, developed new instrumental playing techniques and also established opera, cantata, oratorio, concerto, and sonata as musical genres.  Many musical terms and concepts from this era are still in use today.
