UWI DCFA Student Theatre Production “The Lion and the Jewel” Sat 20th April 2024

The Department of Creative and Festival Arts (DCFA) invites you to the staging of Wole Soyinka’s, “The Lion and the Jewel” directed by Marlon DeBique, and performed by students of the BA Theatre Arts programme. The production uses satire, dance and songs to highlight issues of conflict between love and vanity, tradition versus modernity, in a changing, postcolonial society.

“The Lion and the Jewel” runs from April 19th – 21st, 2024. Show times  are 7pm on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th and 6pm on Sunday 21st April.  For school groups there will be a special Matinee on Friday 19th  April at 10:00am

Tickets are $150 for adults, $100 for students, $60 per student or teacher for the Matinee and may be purchased at the DCFA, Gordon Street, St Augustine or at the Queen’s Hall Box Office.
